MAGNETIC CUBES

Magnetic cubes are regular speed cubes with small magnets installed inside each corner and edge piece which attracts the corresponding piece when a turn is completed and the magnetized corner and edge come together.  The magnets are a subtle addition and affects a small but noticeable change to the feel of a cube and in recent times have become most customers have requested magnetic cubes. Magnets add stability to a fast cube  and prevents over-shooting a turn.  Magnets have also been used to turn cheaper budget cubes into preferred 'mains'.  Generally the magnets are glued in place, however some of the premium brand speed cubes have visible magnets or interchangeable magnetic cylinders.
